Question:
I was diagnosed last December with Mold and Weed Allergy. I was having
constant Sinus Pain and Pressure and Sinus Headaches every day, all day
before being Diagnosed. I am now on Allegra D and Nasonex for Daytime. For
Nighttime, regular Allegra. My problem is...I am now suffering from Sinus
Headaches, Pain and Pressure while taking these allergy medications. Is
there any relief out there? Does anyone have any suggestions? The
medications did work for a while. And I have already tried Claritin.
I am 38 years old and live in Eastern North Carolina. I also take a
Multiple Vitamin, Vitamin-E 800 IU, Vitamin C 500mg, and a Caltrate 600 with
D, Daily. I also take Estratest HS,Estratab and Synthroid 100mcg. daily.
Answer:
See your doctor. Allergic congestion frequently leads to sinus
infections. Unless your doctor is recommending the vitamins in order to treat some
sort of specific vitamin deficiency or uptake problem, all you are
doing is making some vitamin salesman rich. See your doctor. If your doctor cannot get the problem under control,
get a referral to a specialist. Have you had sinus X-rays or other imaging studies? Do they show changes,
particularly in the ostio-meatal complex? Your doctor will tell you why
it's important to know what's going on there. I agree that you should see the Doctor again; this could now be a sinus
infection.
Also, when I began to take Allegra D, I got some pretty massive headaches;
almost migraine strength. As soon as I stopped taking Allegra D( Allegra
did the same thing to me.) the headaches stopped. It was a reaction to the
meds. I now take Clatitin D and have no problems. My daughter takes
Allegra and my son takes Zyrtec. We all need something different. Maybe if
it is not a sinus infection now, the Doc could switch you to Zyrtec. Having a clean house is indeed important. we clean our houses, we clean
the dishes we use, we never share our cups with other people. But i have a
question. Do we clean the air we breathe in our homes? We clean everything
else why not the air?
I picked up a book at the book store called pescription for nutritional healing
By james f balch md and Phyllis a balch cnc.2nd edition (you can find it at
almost any book store)
Regarding allergy and sinus problems it mentions on page 112 and 478 a machine
that can help. Its called an xl15 from alpine industries. I have one in my
home and a few of my friends have the same machine. IT WORKS !!! I was introduced to it by a good friend after it helped him with his allergy
problems.
